Ex-patriot Englishman employee Gareth Speechley introduces me to Jason Jones, who innocently asks, “do you do web?” Yes. “Would you like to look over this proposal from another agency?” Sure. I told Jason he and his company were being triple-billed. We then met with his group, who turn out to be out to be Berlex Labs, a fast-moving pharmaceutical company in need of competent and farily-priced web design that had to be meticulously produced to pass the ever-growing demands of legal and prescribing information. Directed by Michael Rowe and a solid team of project managers, we had a productive six-year relationship and were the agency of record for all of their FHC sites within two years. Now owned by Bayer, we still correspond with Michael and are beginning some new work with them.

[project title:] Climara Website

Our first Berlex site was to engage post-menopausal women with a digital tool that they could simply navigate to find information and solace. We created a hybrid of Flash (then considered a "virus" by many) as well as HTML navigation tools. It was the first FLASH navigation site for Berlex -- it was received well along with the fact that the user demographic was 50+ year old women, in 2001, when websites weren't as commonplace.

[project title:] Climara Pro Website

After a successful Climara launch, Berlex's FHC Marketing director Michael Rowe put us to task on the sequel -- Climara Pro. We sharpened up, created a more streamlined site. Two down.

[project title:] Menostar Website

By this time, Sandbox was in well with Berlex. We were able to organize, design and develop their sites before some of the bigger agencies were able to respond to the RFPs. Michael Rowe and his team loved Sandbox, the feeling was mutual. Sometimes you just know.

[project title:] Mirena Website

Sandbox was now well steeped in Female Health Care -- the Mirena site proved how effective the web was becoming in consumer education.

[project title:] Smart Woman Website

We tried to get The Who to do the soundtrack for this, but they were busy. A mod-Vespa girl animation opened up Berlex's web world for a younger demographic seeking popularly-priced birth control.
